My Story: Learning English as a Spanish Speaker.

Hi, welcome to my blog! I’m Christian, and I’m starting this blog to share my experience learning English. I am currently at a B2 level, and my goal is to reach C1.

I decided to start this blog to practice my writing skills by sharing my journey, my thoughts, and the methods that have helped me so far, as well as what I’m going to do to reach my next goal.

I’ve used various methods to improve my English, such as watching TV shows and movies, watching a lot of YouTube (I love YouTube!), and other tools. In the past I also took some classes with native English-speaking tutors.

If you’re reading this blog and find something helpful here, I would really appreciate it!

I’m from Colombia in Latin America. My first language is Spanish, and I’ve never lived in an English-speaking country; I’ve learned everything online.

I already have a full-time bilingual job working with healthcare claims as an accounts receivable specialist in medical billing. I’ve been doing this for over a year.

If you’re looking for inspiration from someone average, this is the right place.

My English journey, practicing and studying as a habit (doing it every day), started back in January 2022 as a New Year’s resolution. It took me around two and a half years to land my first bilingual job.

Before that, I was working as a security guard at an ice cream factory. During my free time, I practiced English for at least 15 minutes per day, but on my days off, I could spend 4 or 5 hours practicing, both actively and passively.

I’m still on this journey because it’s always better to never stop learning.

Thank you so much for reading, and welcome!
